That’s the title of a new special on Yesterday (a UK TV channel) describing the life in the skies as a Stewardess in the early days.
At first I thought the title was from a “Stewardess'” quote, and while things are clearly not as glamorous as they once were, my eyes automatically roll at anyone describing themselves as “jet set”, even if they fit the definition. I can’t help it (it’s a reflex). It brings to mind guys that slick back their hair (a la Jersey Shore) and girls that…no. Actually, I can’t imagine any women using that phrase. But then again, I am not of that era. Anyway, it turns out that the title was a “quote” from the person who named the show (not an actual Stewardess). Regardless, I’ll be making some pop corn and pouring a drink to watch this one. Hopefully, at the end of hearing what life in the skies was like when people said things like “Jet Set”, I won’t be crying into my Margherita that I totally wish I hadn’t missed the Good Old Days.
